The trail climbs toward the summit of the mountain. Some cacti and shrubs grow along the mountain top, but there isn't much shade.
Brittlebush shrub flowers next to the trail in the spring.
The Mojave mound cactus blooms in April alongside the trail. The spring is a great time to visit the park to see wildflowers bloom throughout the park.
Views of the park stretch out before you that were previously hidden by the mountain.
The trail passes through a saddle on the mountain and the trail becomes dirt instead of stairs. The saddle is a good place to rest before continuing your ascent.
