The hike heads up a wash on a path of round stones, making the route somewhat technical for the 1 mile distance.
Set at the eastern edge of the San Gabriel Mountains, the trail to Bonita Falls is a short distance from the metropolitan Southern California area but feels much more distant.
A thicket of green trees in a mostly dry wash marks the turn up into the narrow canyon.
Reaching the base of Bonita Falls following a 1 mile hike with 350' in elevation gain.
Cascading down around 100', Bonita Falls marks the climax of the hike into the canyons of the San Gabriel Mountains.
