Cascading down around 100', Bonita Falls marks the climax of the hike into the canyons of the San Gabriel Mountains.
Set at the eastern edge of the San Gabriel Mountains, the trail to Bonita Falls is a short distance from the metropolitan Southern California area but feels much more distant.
The hike heads up a wash on a path of round stones, making the route somewhat technical for the 1 mile distance.
One of the makeshift stream crossings at Lytle Creek to start the hike out.
View to the north from Etiwanda Peak at Mt. Baldy. Icehouse Saddle, Timber and Telegraph Peaks also visible.
