As with most trails, if you hike a couple of miles away from the parking lot, you get stunning views without all the people.
The trail climbs through open fields of Sage brush.
Lamar Valley from the Specimen Ridge Trail
Bison on the Specimen Ridge trail. Even on top of the ridge you'll encounter bison on the trail.
Bears frequent the ridge. Pronghorn carcasses can be seen off the trail. Remember to pack spray.
