The trail dead ends at the historic site property line.
The trail ends with a nice view of the Missouri River. Imagine Lewis and Clark navigating this river when they were traveling through the West.
The trail reaches the bluff and runs along the top of the bluff for a while with views of the Missouri River.
The views of the Missouri River are fantastic from the Bluffs Spur.
The hike borders the forest and you can enjoy views of a typical high grass prairie.
The remains of a Hidatsa Village can be seen along the trail. There are circular mounds and depressions that indicate roughly 113 earth lodges once stood here.
The trail begins along a mowed path that borders the fence line.
