Benches can be found along the trail that allow you to sit, relax, and enjoy the views of the Watauga River.
Views of Sycamore Shores, which played an important role as a meeting spot for the Overmountain Men, can be enjoyed from the trail.
Fort Watauga can be accessed via a short paved trail that runs from the visitor center to the fort.
There is a nice view of the Watauga River from the Sycamore Shoals Trail. While the trail doesn't go by the shoals, this view of the river is really nice.
The Longhunter Loop Trail moves through the woods along a wide dirt and grass trail.
