The trail travels along the North Fork of Spring Creek (lower left) in its shaded creek valley dominated with tall western red cedars and hemlocks. Little undergrowth due to little sunlight.
Reservoir Ridge Trail crosses the North Fork of Spring Creek in the dense forest near its junction with Majestic Passage.
As the trail climbs, it becomes drier with more sunshine, and so there is dense, lush undergrowth with the sun. Other trees join the towering cedars (right).
