Description
The navigation on this hillside behind the lodging lining Deer Valley Drive East can be confusing at first, mostly due to multiple junctions, similar trail names, and signposts that label trails in addition to giving directions to neighboring trails.
Gap Bypass trail is named as such on the paper summer trail maps, but is not given this name on the trailside signposts.
Gap Bypass trail leaves from
Finn's connector and traverses around the scrub covered hillside. The gentle uphill ends at the Deer Crest neighborhood guardhouse on McKinley
Gap Road. Enjoy views of the ski runs on Bald Mountain as well as down to the lakes of Frog Valley. This dry trail does not provide much shade but scattered wildflowers appear instead. The trail surface is packed dirt with some small loose rocks. Note: bikes are allowed on this trail.
