Description

The Cairn Trail can be done in either direction and is not really a destination trail. Instead, it is mostly used by locals living in the Newlands neighborhood of Boulder. Starting from Linden Avenue, the trail skirts backyards through open fields and gently gains elevation. It eventually tops a small ridge and crosses a debris slide from the 2013 flood before connecting to the Goat Trail.

The Cairn Trail gets its name from the huge rock Cairn on an upper part of this trail that is now closed. Please respect the "closed for revegetation" signs and do not use the Upper Cairn Trail.

Honestly a lovely trail. It's getting wider and wider the more use it gets without proper trail etiquette. Dogs are always off leash here. 0.1mi — 0h 06m
