Bottom trailhead, at Slab Camp, is on a Forest Service Road that is unmaintained in winter. Top trailhead at Deer Park is accessed via Deer Park Road. Deer Park Road closes at the Park Boundary at first snow and reopens once it is melted out *usually* Mid June. Deer Park Road is snowbound in winter. Avalanche dangers exist on this trail in the upper sections, winter navigation skills required.

Description

Dogs are allowed on this trail within Olympic National Forest, including the Wilderness section. They are not allowed beyond the boundary to Olympic National Park, approximately 0.9 miles beyond the Lookout Memorial Benches when heading up trail. There is usually a sign demarcating this boundary.
