This woodsy east-west trail is a mellow way to reach some scattered ponds and Faraway Rock.

Runner Notes

The trail can be snowy and muddy.

Description

Starting from the Mazama Ridge Trail intersection, run west through meadows and snow patches over mostly level ground. Cross an intermittent stream that eventually feeds into Lake Louise. Continue west, gaining elevation on the hillside before settling back down to a simple traverse. The forest is thick here and bugs can be a nuisance. After a gentle short descent, the trail ends at a saddle bisected by the Lower Lakes trail.

Flora & Fauna

Bears, deer.
