Description
The trail climbs steadily for 3.5 miles through the forest on a series of switchbacks to reach the lakes. From
Owyhigh Lakes basin, continue south and begin the descent along Kotsuck Creek.
As you skirt the southern walls of Barrier Peak (6,377') and Buell Peak (5,599'), the trail steadily drops into a densely forested area, just north of the creek. Upon crossing Boundary Creek the trail heads southeast, eventually meeting
Eastside Trail. After paralleling Eastside for a few hundred meters, Owyhigh switchbacks down to Rt. 123, the trail's terminus.
Flora & Fauna
Multiple secluded mountain lakes and meadows aglow with wildflowers in mid-summer.
