The marshy section at about a mile in can be flooded and hard to pass after a heavy rain on spring snow melt.

You can access this trail from the Soda Ridge Trail. Once you arrive at the Keystone Ranch, you'll turn left onto Red Trail and follow it through a big meadow on a wider singletrack. The singletrack thins through a marshy section that is hard to pass with a lot of rain or during spring runoff. Once you get through this section, the trail climbs gradually up west ridge towards the south.

After the climb, you reach the intersection with the Colorado Trail. You can continue on the Colorado trail and loop back around or turn around and go back down the way you came.
