There are a few trails that look well-traveled but have signs saying they are off limits. Heed the warnings and don't use closed trails!
Description
This trail isn't terribly challenging, although there's a solid climb in the middle that keeps the heart rate up.
It starts out as a mellow, winding trail, climbing gently on a mostly smooth dirt trail with a few rocks thrown in. After it passes
Herkenham Trail, the climb becomes more difficult with a steady grade, loose soil, and rock steps along the way.
The reward for the climb is a very nice, smooth section of trail descending back down the other side. It's mostly hard-packed red dirt, meandering through bright green Junipers, enjoy.
You'll meet up with
Carroll Canyon Trail on your right, and this trail continues half a mile past that, to its finish with
Bandit Trail and
Ridge Trail.
