As of 2015, this was one of two officially blazed trails in a park; it featured a little more than 6 miles of steep singletrack. The trail climbs steeply up Girl Scout Hill to the Buffalo enclosure. The county rangers, have removed the majority of the white blazes in preparation to blaze the Paul Riis trail that will connect the unique stone features in the park with white blazes.
The old Trailhead is behind the stop sign at the bottom of the VIP/Ice Skating Rink Lot. The Trail follows the stream, Catfish Run, to the Girl Scout Cabin Field. When you come into the clearing, follow the trail to the cabin and turn around before it reenters the woods.
About 75 yards into the woods, make a hard left up out of the valley floor. Near the top, make a left at the fork in the trail. Once you reach the parking lot, make a left. After about 100 yards, make another left and proceed down almost all the way to Corrigan Dr. Near the bottom, be sure to make a right and follow the trail to McConkey Rd. Cross McConkey Rd at the light and follow the trail, which parallels Corrigan Dr, until it makes a hard right on its way up to the top of the Buffalo enclosure.
At the top of the hill, the trail opens into a gravel parking lot. You'll see the trail heading towards the Buffalo enclosure. Follow the fence line before reentering the woods. Cross Sesqui Dr and make a left onto the current
Montour Trail extension down to Corrigan Rd.
Cross Corrigan Rd and make a right turn to Cricket Field Parking Lot. To the right of the basketball hoops, the trail opens and starts again. Follow it past the Cricket field and up to the exercise path. Continue straight up to, and cross, Maple Spring Dr at the break in the guard rail.
Climbing toward the golf course, the trail crosses a service road and drops into the woods in the gravel pull off. Follow it down to the Oliver Miller Homestead and cross Stone Manse Dr. The white blazes will take you up along the golf course before dropping you down to East Park Dr.
At the bottom of the hill, you'll cross East Park Dr and drop down to the stream. Cross the bridge and bear left. Follow the white blazes to the water fountain and proceed uphill below the old shelter. The last section of trail parallels Corrigan Dr. before it drops you down to the intersection of 100 Acres Dr. and Corrigan Dr. The VIP/Ice Skating rink lot will be across the street.
