Runner Notes
Great smooth surface and lots of easy access points make this a stellar quick workout option.
Description
This pleasant, newly paved path extends in an east-west direction from the Grand Canyon Visitor Center (on the eastern end) to the Bright Angel Trailhead/Lodge area (on the western end). There are plans to make the trail even longer in an attempt to reduce traffic congestion in this popular area. This pedestrian and cyclist friendly path is considerably safer than sharing the narrow roads with buses and folks distracted by the amazing scenery.
Obviously the sections of this path that are further from roads are more peaceful and offer better chances for wildlife sightings. There are several road crossings along the way, but this path is well marked and hard to miss.
