Description

The North Fork of Lime Creek trail starts off of the Blue Ridge Trail. You'll descend through aspen groves and pine forest on singletrack that is very narrow in sections and very rocky. There is not much let up as you descend. You'll cross a road part way down from which point the trail grade will lessen and you'll experience more undulating terrain. There are also a number of water crossings. It can be a little brushy in spots, and the grass can grow tall enough to obscures the trail, but this is a true backcountry run on primitive singletrack, so get used to it.

Further toward the bottom, the trail really mellows out and then turns away from the north fork and towards the middle fork. There is a deep creek crossing and then you have a short, steep pitch up over a small a ridge. Once over the ridge you'll descend towards the south fork and make another creek crossing where the trail turns into doubletrack. The trail below the doubletrack does not see a lot of use. Most people use the doubletrack to return to the nearby trailhead.
