This is a fantastic trail for running. There is an annual running event held here.

Start at the Trapps parking area after the bridge on 44/55. From the parking area, run back towards the bridge, go up a set of steps and continue to the left. Do not cross the bridge for this run. There is a three-way intersection where the Trapps Undercliff Trail and the Trapps Overcliff Trail meet up. There is a large flat-topped boulder sitting in the middle of this intersection. The Undercliff section goes right.

The Trapps Undercliff Trail provides views of the Hudson Valley, observation of technical rock climbers, and there are generally more people using this trail. It is a nice easy walk and can be linked up with the Trapps Overcliff Trail to create a loop.

You will find newts, deer, occasional but rare black bears, porcupines, raccoons, eastern diamondback rattlesnakes, peregrine falcons, bald eagles, vultures, hawks, and lots more.
