Runner Notes
This trail has it all: roots, rocks, paved sections, hills, and more. Solid footwear is not necessary, but there is some nearby singletrack where it would be. This trail is nicely shaded for the majority of this run and it links into others, including the Fairfax County
Connector Trail.
Description
There are multiple ways to access this trail, including the park's main entrance, offshoot trails in local neighborhoods and the Lake
Accontink Access Trail. There are a couple of steep, but short climbs on the trail. Brief sections are paved but the majority is doubletrack with rock and roots. After rains, parts of the trail get really muddy and the area near the dam can flood. Trail is used by walkers, mountain bikers, and runners.
