Description

Start on the loop beside the parking lots heading southwest. Immediately cross the bridge over Cutthroat Creek (perfect for washing the dirt off and soaking the legs when you've come back down from the pass). The trail now climbs gently towards Cutthroat Lake.

Just before reaching the lake you'll find an intersection - turn right (heading straight will take you to the lake just up the trail). The trail now begins many switchbacks and will emerge from the trees for the first glimpse of the surrounding mountains. Towards the end, the trail will straighten as it reaches the pass.
