Overview
Drop the kids at the playground and get in a couple of miles of great running. Either way around is nice so you can't go wrong! This trail offers a couple short steep sections but is generally flat. Mostly trail with a short portion that is paved. Views of the lake all the way around the lake.
Runner Notes
This is a fairly narrow trail in between single and doubletrack size. It does get root and rocky in places with a couple of short but steep inclines. Mostly shaded but the section near the dam is exposed.
Description
There are a number of places to park that offer access to this trail. From the park parking lot, head counter-clockwise around the lake. The first part is paved, but you quickly hit the trail once you cross the bridge. A slight climb brings you to the highest point of the trail. Once you crest you wind your way down. You do cross the access road for the boat launch, but that's the last pavement you'll see. Once you come around the corner, you hit the dam area.
From here, you can either go high and run along the top or low and run along the water. You'll cruise through the woods and finally make your way to the soccer/baseball fields. A short, flat run gets you to the playground and back to the parking lot.
