Runner Notes

This trail covers it all in 40 miles. This is a great running trail due its the flat and paved nature. There are off-road sections with most of that being doubletrack. Watch the map or download the route as there are sections that are not as well marked. Make sure you have the Virginia data downloaded so that you can use the Trail Run Project mobile app.

Description

This trail is good no matter which way you travel it. On one end you have Great Falls Park and its trail system. On the other end you have Occoquan with its restaurants and boutique shops. Because this trail goes through a busy and heavily populated county, there are tons of locations through which you can get on and off the trail. In fact, my guess is that you can be on this trail and not even know it. There are plenty of places to grab a drink if you need it as well.

The big plus is that there are also sections where you'll have no idea you are in such a populated area.
