This is an excellent trail for runners. Predictable footing and room to pass others without undue effort.

This portion of the run takes you as far south as you can go at this park. Better views compared to the other trails in the park which generally follow Wolf Creek and are generally flat.

Water is provided along the route, particularly beneficial in the summer months when even though it has a high shade factor, heat and humidity will make you want water if you didn't bring any with you.

Typical eastern Kansas birds and flowers, many blooming in the spring. Fall colors are worth the visit in the fall.
