This is a rocky trail.

Smoke Rise Trail starts at the Land Trust Gravel Parking lot off of Cecil Ashburn and runs 1.5 until it dead ends into the Sugar Tree Trail.

The entire trail is singletrack, rocky and has plenty of roots to contend with. There are are also plenty of creek bed crossings that flow quite regularly during the fall and winter. You also see a few side trails that lead down to the neighborhoods in Jones Valley.

If you run the trail from Sugar Tree Trail the first mile is relatively flat and the last 1/2 mile is rocky and steep.
