Park open dawn to dusk. The trails to the top of Bull Run Mountain are currently closed for recovery. This trail does not go the top.

Runner Notes

Singletrack through most of it. The terrain can be a bit uneven with roots showing. The trail is mostly uphill which gets the lungs pumping a little.

Description

From the parking lot, cross the train tracks and bear to the left. Follow the orange blazes. Fern Hollow will take you past the old mill on your left. Head up and continue on the trail until you get to the intersection with the Bull Run Ridge Trail.

Flora & Fauna

Squirrels, deer, turtles, frogs, and rattlesnakes! So watch where you put you feet.
I have heard that black bear roam as well.
