Start at the main parking lot about a mile up Davis Gulch from Helena. The trail borders the upper end of the parking lot and then begins switchbacks to the top of the hill. The trail then flattens out and enters the meadow heading due south. At the intersection with the TR Trail which is a 90-degree right the trail forks to the right and begins heading northwest. The trail will then enter a forested area and begin dropping until it intersects with the Waterline Trail.
