Overview

You'll walk through the old-growth forest, along the craggy shoreline bluffs, and through some swampy sections as well. Eventually, you'll reach Scoville Point, a rocky outcropping that has great views of Lake Superior and the surrounding islands.

Description

The Stoll Memorial Trail is an easy loop that starts at the Rock Harbor Lodge and winds east to Scoville Point. The trail is well-maintained and is popular among runners and can be a great warm-up trail if you're staying at Rock Harbor Lodge or Campground before starting your big backpacking adventure.

Flora & Fauna

Keep an eye out for moose on the trail... rumor is that it's a favorite spot for mothers who bring their young here to escape the potential for run-ins with wolves further from the human presence around the harbor.
