The McIntosh Lake Trail is half paved, and half gravel. It encircles the lake, usually very close to the shoreline and is a popular place to walk, jog or bike. There are multiple places to access the trail with official parking lots as marked on this map, but also ample on-street parking along the south side. This is a dammed lake with the southwest corner forming the retailing wall. From most places along the path you get great views of Mount Meeker and Long's Peak to the west.

Keep an eye out for a wide array of wildlife, including prairie dogs, blue herons, red foxes, and bald eagles. Cottonwoods.
