Overview
Poo Poo Point is technically a summit of West Tiger Mountain although it isn't a typical "Peak." It opens up to a great view, although the Point is only slightly higher than the surrounding area.
Description
There is parking off the 2nd AVE SE, and the trailhead begins after crossing an often swampy grassy field. There is a sign on the other side of this area with general information posted (lost items, wildlife, etc) and doggy bags. Stay right to continue uphill. You'll cross an old railroad line (now just gravel) that makes a three-way intersection. Again, stay right and there will be a turnoff on your left-hand side. Further up, you'll walk under powerlines. Don't worry, it gets a little more "naturey" after this, surrounded by trees, and with blossoms in the spring. There are seasonal creeks that may require waterproof shoes or clever impromptu bridges depending on the rainfall and time of the year.
After a gentle climb, you're nearly there! There are a couple service roads which are inaccessible to the public. At the top, you'll notice a green turf area that is used by paragliders. Enjoy the views and I recommend running on a clear day so you see more than clouds (Lake Sammamish, Squak and Cougar Mountains, and Seattle skyline in the distance).
History & Background
This former clearcut was logged by Weyerhaeuser in the 70's. As a consequence, the area is primarily young trees.
