Description
Tubbs Hill is "must see" if you are in the area. The 2-mile loop follows the shoreline of Coeur d'Alene Lake through evergreen forests, around the 120 acre Tubbs Hill park. There are multiple off-shoots that take you to scenic overlooks that are great places to picnic or meditate.
The trailhead is easily accessible from the downtown area and there is ample parking. This is a popular run for locals, but the trail doesn't get particularly crowded. Winter access can be limited and is determined by the snow level.
For more information visit the City of Coeur D'Alene's
Tubbs Hill website.
Flora & Fauna
This is a great example of local forest with groves of Ponderosa Pine and Douglas Fir. White Tailed Deer are common and the area has been known to host American Bald Eagles.
