Runner Notes
From Kimberly Bridge parking area if you stay to the right the trail ascends quickly. If you start on the left-hand fork the trail starts out flat or relatively flat for 1.5 miles before turning 180 degrees and starting the ascent up to the site of the old fire tower.
Description
The Blue trail is a 4-mile loop that heads up to the highest point in the park, the site of the old fire tower (removed 1982). The back side (southern part) of the trail is a rock scramble. The rest of the trail is either single or doubletrack. Lots of boulders to either side of the trail and some of the old "Ridge Pounds" that give the town of Pound Ridge its name.
Flora & Fauna
Lots of wildlife makes tracks through here in the winter. Runners have sighted coyotes and bobcat prints. One runner spotted a black bear on the southern part of the trail during fall 2014.
