Runner Notes

The first part of this trail is primarily in the timber while the second half has more views as it reaches some meadows. This trail is open to motorcycles, so keep an ear open (it won't be hard to...).

Description

From the end of the Oti Park Road (FS Road 3339), look for the trail heading directly up the ridge towards the Arch. The map shows the Oti Park Road going a little further, but it is not wide enough for a passenger vehicle.

The trail will climb HARD up the ridge, and you'll see the limestone arch about a mile and half into the climb. The trail breaks out into a meadow and then follows the crest of the ridge the rest of the way up the Big Baldy Trail and the summit of Butcherknife Mountain.

Flora & Fauna

Watch for elk and deer. The meadows halfway up will have good wildflowers early in the summer.
