Start at the intersection with the Mid State Trail at the fire tower and old cabin. Stay left near the fire pit but don't go as far as Little Flat Tower Road. At the Y-intersection, stay left.

The trail will wind around as you descend to the intersection with Laurel Run Road. As the trail approaches Laurel Run Road it makes a sharp left. At this point you can see a small spring off to the right of the trail.
