Overview
This route offers beautiful views of Cache Valley and the Wellsville Mountains as well as plenty of wildflowers in the spring and early summer and rock formations up above along the entire route. Most of the route is along doubletrack, although there are some sections (like the section that descends to Millville Canyon) which have some nice singletrack and opportunities to see deer and plenty of birds.
The only drawback is the intense sun. If you don't start early enough in the morning, you'll have the sun on you the entire time, since there is hardly any shade.
Description
This trail starts out with some beautiful short segments through groves of trees and eventually breaks out until you have great views of Cache Valley all around. It continues to gain and lose elevation throughout the course, especially as you reach the mouth of Providence Canyon and Millville Canyon. There are a couple of times that the trail crosses a creek, at Providence Canyon and also between Providence and Millville canyons (but the crossings are covered by the trail, so there is no difficulty in crossing them).
This is a beautiful run in all seasons, but especially in the fall when the scrub maples are turning their different colors and the temperatures are dropping. It's also beautiful in the spring when the wildflowers are blooming all around the trail.
