Runner Notes

An out and back from here, and an easy place to get in a mile and an half.

Description

Take the Hawk Camp Trail to Hawk Camp. Whether you come from the Tennessee Valley Trail by way of the Marincello Trail or up the Bobcat Trail through the Gerbode Valley, you'll be climbing regardless. Treat yourself to a picnic when you get to the campground, you'll have earned it!

Your view will be of the Gerbode Valley, which leads out to the Rodeo Valley and Cronkhite Beach. Thankfully there are tables and trees which makes this a great protected spot for your picnic. Be warned that unattended items can blow away, especially when the wind howls up from the valley floor.
Camping is not open year round. Check online for dates.

From here, it's only another 200 yards of climbing, but it will be worth it!
