Description

The Tropic Valley Connector is a useful way to access the amphitheaters, hoodoos, Peekaboo Loop and other valley floor rock formations without doing the steep climb back and forth to the rim. This being said, the Tropic Valley Connector is a wide doubletrack without much scenery or shade for the first two-thirds of the way. The consistent but gentle incline eventually leads to much better views, so be patient!

This trail starts at the fenced cul de sac at the end of Bryce Way Road (just west of the town of Tropic). Park at the end of the road where you are likely to see horses being readied for trail rides. Proceed through scrub and trees until reaching the wide wash of Peekaboo Canyon. Here you have the choice of using the Peekaboo Connector to access the popular Peekaboo Loop or Navajo Loop trails. Alternately, you may choose to stay on Tropic Valley Connector as it heads northwest to join the Queens Garden Trail.
