Description
From the parking area, travel over mostly flat terrain until reaching a bridge where you'll join the streamside path. Gain elevation gradually as you marvel at the hoodoo spires above the trail. After a slightly steeper section, you arrive at a fork. First take the left fork (southwards) up to Mossy Cave. This grotto was formed by an underground spring. Depending on the time of year, the cave features either moss or giant icicles.
Return to the trail fork and take the other branch heading north. You'll arrive at the top of a small waterfall that runs over a Dolomite limestone lip. The waterfall flows from May to October. This enjoyable trail is easy on the legs and great on the senses. Because this trailhead is accessed prior to the entrance station, you can explore this area for free without paying the park fee.
