Description

This trail will lead you up to Heather Lake on a steeper ascent than Watchtower Trail. The way up is fairly strenuous, but once you have reached the top, you can get a few good views.

The trail zigzags a number of times until it keeps going up straight. Most of the trail will lead you through the forest where you don't really have a nice view. Once you reach the ridge, you can look into the valley that Marble Fork Kaweah River has carved over time, with Mt. Silliman on the left.

After crossing the ridge, the trail quickly zigzags down again to merge with Watchtower Trail and the greater Lakes Trail.
