Runner Notes
Wide road with loose rocks is unforgivingly steep. South facing and open, so snow melts early here.
Description
This fairly unpleasant trail can only be called a trail because it gets you from point A to point B by foot. Starting from the large dirt parking area just off Moonridge Drive, head west past some bedraggled foot-traffic only signs, ascending under power lines. Make a sharp turn uphill to the north and begin the steep slog with highway noise as accompaniment. Part-way up, you'll pass between some large cedars, but otherwise the wide, parched, eroded road is an uninteresting climb. Upon reaching the top, there are views up and down valley, but this is a destination only for those who live nearby and are desperate for a no-frills workout.
Flora & Fauna
Sagebrush, pinyon, cedar, juniper.
