Overview
This trail is a wonderful little outing for a pre- or post- work run. It's fast, well-marked, well-traveled, and taken care of. There is plenty of parking next to the picnic areas and public restrooms as well. This park has various other trails running through it for a little extra exploration. Shevlin Park is free to the public and open while the sun is out.
Need to Know
There are three bridged creek crossings on the Shevlin Loop Trail.
Runner Notes
A few small climbs/descents with a couple bridge crossings scattered throughout. Less tree cover will be found on the southeast stretch. Very few rocks and tree roots to evade on this one. The trail is well-marked with signage at each intersection.
Description
Expect to see hikers, runners, and mountain bikers on this trail. There is rarely any congestion and the creek is a great place to cool off at the end of your run or during one of the three creek crossings. I've noticed that counterclockwise is a bit more popular, but clockwise tends to be a bit faster (for me... I'm not sure why!)
