Description

This short but scenic trail section connects the Ape Canyon Trail (#234) to the Plains of Abraham Trail (#216D) for a great continuous out-and-back route. The trail takes you around Pumice Butte and then through the pumice fields alongside the base of Mount St. Helens. The trail is relatively flat but has some loose, technical sections and crosses a few rocky washes as well. From the Junction with Abraham Trail, the Loowit Trail continues all the way to Windy Trail #216E.
