Runner Notes
Loose basalt and steep hill on this connector.
Description
This connector trail is straight forward and easy to find off of the east side of
Trail 101 - North Trail Red Loop (going east) and
Rimrock Drive (going west). However, it can be difficult to find going east from
Rimrock Drive so watch the crest of the rim closely to the west if you're hoping to use this connector. The segment of the connector between the west side of
Trail 101 - North Trail Red Loop and
Rimrock Drive is a flat, narrow, but relatively rock and root free, singletrack.
The section of trail between
Rimrock Drive and the east side of
Trail 101 - North Trail Red Loop is steep, narrow and has quite a bit of loose basalt on the tread so watch your step. Since this section of the trail leads down from the rim, you move from views of the city and Mt. Spokane into a beautiful wooded area with tall trees and very little underbrush. As with most of this area, there are social trails and animal tracks that crisscross this connector so just keep an eye on the map when you're headed for
Trail 101 - North Trail Red Loop or
Rimrock Drive.
