Runner Notes
This is a really steep trail and will really get your heart racing!
Description
This is a great trail for people looking for some steep terrain. It goes straight up a ridge and gains about 2,500 feet in a little over a mile. It is a good quality trail almost the entire way though, and in the summer there are lots of beautiful wildflowers along the trail.
This mountain can be seen from just about anywhere in Logan, and is differentiated from other mountains by the reflector towers at the top. From the trailhead, the trail starts slowly ascending through some grassy fields but pretty soon starts to ascend more steeply. Near the beginning, there is an interesting rock formation that you can actually go right through - it looks almost like a throne of sorts.
Past this, the trail continues to go up and passes some more interesting rock formations on its way towards the top of the peak. The trail starts to ease up just as it gets close to the top, although it also becomes much harder to find at the top, as the vegetation becomes scattered and makes everything look like a trail. However, it is easy from this point to just head for the reflector towers to finish the trail.
