Start at spectacular viewpoints on your way to the Alakai trail and Kilohana Lookout. For the first portion of this trail, visitors will enjoy relatively flat trail, with a few rolling portions. There aren't many obstacles in the first portion, which makes this an excellent trail for those just getting used to traveling off pavement.

After the intersection with the Alakai Swamp Trail, you'll start heading downhill more noticeably. There is one steep descent, but once you make your way through that, the rest of the trail is fairly mellow. You'll end your journey on Mohihi Rd.

On this trail you'll have an opportunity to see some endangered and endemic Hawaiian birds.

At the intersection of this trail and Alakai Swamp Trail you may have the opportunity to see some Endemic Hawaiian birds.
