Description
This is the longest individual singletrack trail at the Wilds. The trail runs primarily through wooded hills, punctuated by sections of pine. There are a number of short challenging climbs that are rewarded with fun downhill sections. The terrain is challenging with plenty of technical roots and rocks.
Beaver City is very picturesque and the home to a lot of wildlife. It is not uncommon to scare up several whitetail deer on run. Night runners will often be serenaded by the yips of coyotes - particularly in the fall.
This trail can be quickly accessed by parking at the North Country Camp Gate off of Watson Road. Run the doubletrack gravel road through a small camp clearing up a minor grade and turn left onto the grassy haul road. Proceed down the grassy haul road for approximately 100 yards, and Beaver City starts on your left at marked post #20. (Turning right onto the singletrack off the Old Haul Road at #20 will take you on a short segment to connect with the Field Loop or the end of Beaver City at marker #16.)
