Runners can either start this trail by running from the visitor center at Crow's Nest Preserve along the Chief's Grove Trail, marked by yellow arrows, until you reach the red arrows marking the start of this trail - or you can jump right onto the trail from Harmonyville Road.

From Harmonyville Road, you'll pass through farmland until you reach the woods, where you'll be surrounded by oak, hickory, tuliptree, beech, maple, and spicebush trees. Nearly extinct American chestnuts sprout from decaying stumps. The trail passes over Northside Road twice along it's loop. You'll see green arrows at two points along the trail, marking the Fox Hill Trail.

Oak, hickory, tuliptree, beech, maple, and spicebush trees can be seen along the trail. At certain times of year, you may see jersey cows in the nearby farmland.
