Runner Notes
A busy, multi-use trail. On nice summer days, this trail can be a bit over-crowded.
Description
This trail is a great way to explore Denver's City Park. Starting at the parking lot on the west end of Ferril Lake by the City Park Pavilion, you'll start off running past the
Denver Zoo and toward the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. On nice days, you may see or hear some of the animals from the zoo.
Continue across the open fields and toward Colorado Blvd before turning south and heading along the southern edge of City Park. Run along the south side of Ferril Lake and enjoy the shaded sections through the trees.
After the roundabout at Thatcher Fountain, turn north and head along the edge of the park that parallels York Street until you reach 23rd Ave. Here the trail loops back by the tennis courts and another parking lot to head back to the starting point by Duck Lake.
Flora & Fauna
Canadian geese and a variety of ducks on the lakes.
