Description

The Sunset Point Trail provides hikers with access to the Green River and the trails that run along it from Sunset Point. To access the trail, take the Heritage trail from the Visitor Center or Sunset Terraces parking areas and hiking out to Sunset Point. At Sunset Point, the trail drops downhill on a singletrack dirt trail through the woods. Sometimes descending steeply, the trail drops down the hill through 4-5 switchbacks and finally emerges at the Two Springs Trail. Keep your eyes peeled for deer, squirrels and other mammals that call the woods home, as well as a variety of birds that can be seen flying from tree to tree. You can turn to the right and follow the trail above the River Styx Spring and then take the River Styx Spring Trail back to the visitor center or you can follow the trail to the left and explore more of the river area as the trail makes its way to Echo River Spring Trail and the Green River Ferry parking area.
