Description

From the trailhead parking area, the trail is located west down the dirt road and heads north. The first section of trail climbs through pine forest to an exposed rock section referred to as The Niche. Enjoy expansive views of the San Joaquin River watershed including the Silver Divide to the south.

Continue along the west side of creek and keep left at the trail junction until the trail crosses the creek and ascends to Cora Lakes. From Cora Lakes the trail meanders along meadows and montane forests before climbing up to Sadler Lake. As the trail ascends through subalpine forests, the alpine views begin to grow more expansive. Soon alpine meadows and small lakes begin to dot the landscape.

The trail then transitions onto massive granite fields as it climbs up to Isberg Pass. Views east are of the majestic Minarets within the Ritter Range. Enjoy the alpine environment and take in the expansive views of Ansel Adams Wilderness and Yosemite!
