Runner Notes
This trail is exceptionally muddy after a rainy day, the kind of mud that sticks to your shoes and keeps accumulating until you feel like you're walking with bricks on your feet.
Description
Parking is available at the start.
Moving counterclockwise, your adventure starts on a well-maintained dirt road as you venture deeper into the hills. Watch out for the cow pond in dry times of the year around mile 0.5; it has created many a muddy dog! Just after passing the cow pond you'll turn left and begin your trek uphill! Your climb will be rewarded with a nice bench with a beautiful view (conveniently at the start of the High Ridge Loop Extension).
Keep moving and enjoy running along with spectacular views of The Bay. You'll get a solid mile or two of great views before you start descending through the latter half of the loop. Work your way down and around Jordan Pond, and finish the home stretch along the side of a hill with respectable views of Hayward.
